"Exercise moderation in
everything, breathe clean air, practise daily skin care and get plenty of
exercise, keep your head cool and your feet warm, cure a little ill by
fasting rather than by medicine". Wise words spoken by Hippocrates of
Kos (460 - 370 BC) as long as two and a half thousand years ago.
Leading a healthy life means preventing illnesses. What it does not mean
is having to go without everything that one likes and gains pleasure from.
Prevention does however mean personal involvement - activity. Anybody who
relaxes in his armchair and hopes to get through life without making too
much effort is in for a rude awakening. The human body is programmed for
exercise, take this away and one day it will become sick. |
